If you can find a more impressive city in the world than Las Vegas, then I am anxious to know where it is.  Despite not having any professional sports franchises, Vegas is a spectacular sports town.  From championship boxing, famous sports books, UNLV, and NASCAR, Sin City is quite a diverse place for sporting events.

Just about every major prize fight takes place in Las Vegas, you name the fighter and chances are he has fought there.  Some of the most famous boxers who have fought in Vegas include, Mike Tyson, Evander Holyfield, Muhammad Ali, Sugar Ray Leonard, Marvin Haggler, Floyd Mayweather, and Manny Pacquiao just to name a few.  There is no better scene for a major boxing match than Las Vegas.

If you are a sports fan, no trip to Vegas is complete without a visit to one of its numerous sports books.  At these books an individual can bet on anything from horse racing, to which team is going to win the Super Bowl or World Series next year!  Any sport can be bet on in general at a book, it is truly a sports gambler's dream.  The UNLV Runnin Rebels have been exciting fans in Vegas for quite some time now.  In 1990 the team won an NCAA National Championship.  They nearly won it all again in 1991, but lost to Duke.

Las Vegas also hosts several annual NASCAR events at the Las Vegas Motor Speedway.  The speedway is located on the outskirts of the city and seats 142,000 spectators.  Las Vegas also has numerous sports memorabilia shops that have some remarkable items.

If one decides to pay a visit to the Gold and Silver Pawn shop, which is the host of the popular reality TV show Pawn Stars on Las Vegas Boulevard, they can see several championship rings, including a 2001 New England Patriots Super Bowl ring.

Las Vegas is by far one of the most spectacular cities in the world.  Few places offer the amenities that Vegas has.  From amazing sporting events, to world renown dining, luxurious hotels, and awesome shows, it is a one of a kind place.  As a matter of fact, it is a place that everyone should visit at least once in their lifetime, it will undoubtedly leave a lasting impression on them.
