The UTEP Miners gave new head coach Sean Kugler his first win as a head coach on Saturday night as the Miners defeated the NM State Aggies 42-21, in Las Cruces.

Behind 253 yards passing from quarterback Jameill Showers and 97 yards rushing from running back Aaron Jones along with a very strong UTEP offensive line, the Miners managed to have the ball for a statagering 41 minutes of the game.

With the help of a vastly improved run defense that held NMSU to just 99 yards rushing for the game, the Miners were able to keep the Aggies at bay a pull away in the second half.

 

After the game the victorious UTEP coach, Sean Kugler addressed the media. Below is what he had to say about the win in the Battle of I-10.
