I was part of a lucky group that had the opportunity to get a preview of Top Golf, which will opening next month in west El Paso. The facility has over 100 climate-controlled hitting bays,full-service restaurant & bars, private event spaces & meeting rooms, rooftop terrace with fire pit, over 200 HDTVs
and free Wi-Fi. My wife and I had a chance to sample food from the restaurant and catering menu. The prime rib stood out as the show stopper, especially when you could wash it down with a pint of Kiltlifter. However, the golf experience was my favorite part of the preview.

I had not swung a golf club in nearly six years so I was a little nervous about the results. Surprisingly, I hit every ball although they did not always find the target. It felt great using a driver, 7-iron, and sand wedge again and the view of the Franklin Mountains from the second level hitting bay is perfect. The best part of the night was that I did not have to chase after and lose any golf balls. Even my wife, who has never hit a golf ball before, enjoyed taking her swings. Top Golf says that 70-percent of all of their customers have never played golf before.

Top Golf is expected to open in early February, and they will not have a grand opening. Their website does offer a mobile signup so you can receive a text alert when they do open up. After nearly three hours of food, golf, and fun, I now understand why people are so excited about having Top Golf in El Paso.
