There is Much Work to Be Done with the Dallas Cowboys
To kick-off the 100th Anniversary of the National Football League interfacing with Dallas Cowboys, fans are speculating about the pay debate with Dak Prescott, Amari Cooper and Ezekial (Zeke) Elliot.A much more interesting and important discussion is how is a team loaded with talent from seasoned veterans to young stars going to make a deep, deep run through the playoffs leading to Miami, the site of Super Bowl LIV?
After a 34-0 scoreboard impressive win over in-state rival Houston Texans, head coach Jason Garrett echoed that there is much work to be done. Most notably is who shall remain on the 53-Man roster? Leave no doubt, the coaches who have blended together well will have a huge part in guiding these players through the season creating success for the team, Jerry Jones Inc. and Cowboys fans desperately seeking a sixth world championship.
All these players will make the Dallas Cowboys roster and must contribute to ensue major success this season, Tony Pollard (RB), Devin Smith (WR), Joe Thomas (LB), Kerry Hyder (DL), Taco Charlton (DL) and Jason Witten (TE). Zero mystery about Zeke playing for the Cowboys. The team is so much better with him than without. Next!
Devin Smith was drafted in the 2nd Round and can fly. He’s on America’s Team now, not the New York Jets and could attract attention in the deep parts of secondaries allowing veteran Randall Cobb and the emerging Michael Gallup to run routes, without “over-the-top” help from safeties. Amari Cooper needs no help, just the ball from Dak! These three defensive players can positively impact the Cowboys on special teams and the front seven of the very good Dallas defense with Rod Marinelli at the helm!
Joe Thomas’ blocked punt, scoop, and score versus the Texans will surely boost the third unit of this team and the pressure and sacks from Charlton and Hyder gives depth to a defensive line that can compete with any team in North America!
Let Jerry Jones enjoy the spotlight and keep the Dallas Cowboys media relevant at all times. Keep Zeke training, out of unnecessary punishment of the preseason and sprinkling lime juice on his tacos after workouts. And ultimately, keep the pressure on Jason Garrett and his coaching staff to mold the final roster into an NFL juggernaut! This is what all Dallas Cowboys fans want to see this season.
To complete the thoughts, Jason “Blocking extraordinaire” Witten (We know he can catch) and Sean “Imma be healthy all season” Lee bring leadership on the field with standout defensive back Byron Jones that has yet to play.
So, how bout them, Cowboys?
