Texas Law Enforcement Will Increase Presence in Border Community

On May 11th, 2023 The City of El Paso released a statement about the increase of law enforcement agencies in the El Paso community. As Title 42 comes to an end, many of these agencies will be setting up barriers to patrol high-traffic areas in the El Paso community. Many of the migrants crossing into El Paso, Texas are claiming asylum, but are being advised to follow new recommendations to do so.

The press release from The City of El Paso has listed the agencies joining together are, "the El Paso Police Department, El Paso County Sheriff’s Office, El Paso County Constables Precinct 6, Socorro Police, EPISD Police, SISD Police, Horizon Police, YISD Security, UTEP Police, and Texas DPS to ensure the safety of everyone in our community."

I've witnessed about 20 migrants make a dash across Loop 365 for Ascarate Park around 2:30 pm. You are going to have to take my word since it happened so fast and it really isn't safe to pull out your phone while you are driving. While many FitFam videos have been shared from this drive-by view, please be safe when driving on that border freeway.

Situations to Be Aware of When Title 42 Ends

Due to public safety concerns, the law enforcement agencies also want to remind people about the possibility of many migrants crossing into not only Downtown El Paso but neighboring communities around the borderland. Residents are advised to be aware of their surroundings and make sure to secure and lock their homes and vehicles. Motorists are also advised to be very careful while driving along the border. Residents are also advised to not pick up or offer any rides to anyone along this area.

El Pasoans should also be aware of abandoned areas and private property, as some officials have reported seeing migrants hiding out in these types of areas. If you or anyone you know does see suspicious activity, you are advised to call 911.
