The Miners (0-5) remain winless thus far this 2024 season.

Conference USA released its preseason poll on Friday, which is voted by a panel of media members that cover schools in the league, and predicted UTEP as the sixth place team out of nine in the conference.

Although the UTEP men's basketball team would like to end their regular season with a win, that could put them in position to meet top seed FAU next week.

It's been a rocky two-month stretch for the Miners men's basketball team (13-14, 4-10 C-USA), who will enter Conference USA Bonus play on a five-game losing streak.

Through a back-and-forth second half, the Miners battled their way out of a 13-point deficit in the first half but were nudged out in the end by Western Kentucky, falling for the fourth straight time, 67-62, on Thursday evening.

UTEP (13-12, 4-8 Conference USA) hopes to put an end to their three-game losing streak as they host Western Kentucky (16-8, 9-3 C-USA) Thursday night at the Don Haskins Center.

UTEP's roller coaster of a season took a complete downhill spike last weekend after getting blown out by Western Kentucky (40-16), who hadn't won a conference game since last season.

UTEP came oh, so close to knocking off two-time defending Conference USA champion WKU. But the Miners missed three field goals, and the Hilltoppers escaped with a 15-14 victory on Saturday night in the Sun Bowl.

The UTEP women's basketball team hosted the 24th ranked Western Kentucky Hilltoppers in a game that was close throughout before WKU pulled away for a 80-74 victory.  The Miners committed a season-high 24 turnovers during the game, but stayed within striking distance of the Lady Hilltoppers by making a season-high tying 11 three-pointers...
