UTEP vs. Rice

Following their C-USA opening split series against Southern Miss, the Miner men's basketball team returns to the Haskins Center for their league home opener against Rice on Friday and Saturday.

Following the cancelation of the Rice game due to positive cases of COVID-19 within the program, UTEP football has temporarily suspended all football team activities, Director of Athletics Jim Senter announced Sunday.

Hours before kickoff of the football game against Rice, the game was called off due to positive tests and contact tracing within the UTEP program.

Through this last up-and-down month, UTEP desperately needed an extra boost from their backcourt as a collective.

The UTEP men's basketball team (11-8, 2-4 C-USA) is searching for its first road win since March 3, 2018, and they will have their best chance of the season thus far when they square off against Rice (9-11, 1-6 C-USA) on Thursday night.
