In what could only be described as a dreary, chilly evening with a constant downpour for more than two and a half hours, Parkland running back Deion Hankins put on a show for the ages by becoming the first El Paso high school football player to eclipse more than 6,000 career rushing yards...

Led by the best running back in the city, Parkland destroyed Hanks at home in front of a capacity crowd on homecoming.  The Matadors' 40 point victory was largely due in part to Deion Hankins, who rushed for 301 yards on 30 carries, and scored 5 touchdowns to give his squad the 63-23 triumph...

The Parkland Matadors went in to Highlander Stadium and ruined the homecoming festivities with a 42-20 win over Bel Air.  Parkland's fast pace no huddle offense struck  first when quarterback AJ Briggs found star wide receiver De'quan Henderson to put the Matadors up 7-0 with 9:54 to go in the first quarter...

It took Parkland super sophomore Deion Hankins just 10 varsity games to pick up his first FBS offers, and it came locally from UTEP and Sean Kugler, and Kliff Kingsbury from Texas Tech.

In what turned out to be the ultimate defensive battle, Parkland defeated Hanks 10-7 thanks to four Knights' turnovers.

There was a time in this city when Andress and Irvin battled for bragging rights in the northeast side of town.  The Chapin Huskies may be the newest kid on the block, but they have quickly become perennial contenders for the 1-4A crown.
