The Huskies fended off a late, but strong Parkland run to beat the Matadors 56-53 in the regional quarterfinals inside the Don Haskins Center on Tuesday night.

The Huskies look forward to turning the season around against northeast foe Parkland. This week's matchup will play out at Irvin HS at 7 p.m.

By Christian Molinar Burges High School Sports Reporter The Burges Mustangs go into the second game of the season on a high note after beating the Mountain View Lobos last Friday night 28-19. The Mustangs host Cathedral Friday night. The Irish also won their season opener against Parkland 22-6.
