It is so heartbreaking to think that these families will have to be outside when the coldest air of the season hits the borderland, but seeing the amount of donations and volunteer work from local businesses really restores my faith in humanity.
“They tell me they turn to music as a form of refuge,” said Brianna. “They say all the music they sing is improvised and that it all comes from their heart and soul and they said that they express their tough journey to get to the U.S through their music as well.”
Due to this unexpected influx of migrants, the shelter is asking for the community to donate clothing and food items so that the shelter can provide these migrants with the proper clothing they need while they stay at the shelter.
