Sometimes we forget that sports are only for entertainment purposes.  It seems that there are times when people place more of an emphasis on their favorite teams then what really matters in life.  What should matter the most are people's lives.

When people decide to become race car drivers, they expect to have a long successful career. These drivers have nerves of steel and they are fearless. In the Izod Indy Racing League they can reach speeds of over 220 mph. It takes a lot of guts to get behind the wheel of any car that can move that fast. Two-time Indianapolis 500 winner Dan Wheldon was killed on Sunday after his car collided with others during the IndyCar Series season finale at Las Vegas Motor Speedway. His death was pronounced approximately two hours after he was airlifted to University Medical Center.
