I always love when college football coaches decide to compare the best NCAA team to the NFL. In sports we love to play the "What If" game, and South Carolina head coach Steve Spurrier has no problems stirring the pot. That's why these comments made by Spurrier Wednesday morning on the Dan Patrick Show should not surprise anyone.

"Alabama, gosh, they look like they could beat a couple of those NFL teams that I've watched on Sundays," Spurrier told Patrick. "I think a lot of the oddsmakers out there that usually know what's going on, I'd guess Alabama would be favored by a little bit."

Obviously, Spurrier is one of many football personnel that believe Nick Saban's Crimson Tide are head and shoulders better than any other team in college football. This weekend, Alabama will face a stiff test when they travel to Baton Rouge and meet #5 LSU. But, could Spurrier be right about the SEC powerhouse. Would Alabama be favored against teams like Kansas City, Carolina, or Jacksonville? Well, maybe the Chiefs.
