The 2011 Buffalo Bills were the darlings of September and October.  A fast 5-2 start had fans in western New York thinking playoffs for the first time since 1999.  Seven straight losses in November and December quickly derailed those hopes.

Hope springs eternal in 2012 for Bills' fans.  Buffalo made a big splash by signing away Mario Williams from Houston.  Buffalo also needs running back Fred Jackson to return to the form he showed before getting hurt in 2011.

He may be one of the smartest players in the league, but I still don't have faith in Harvard's Ryan Fitzpatrick as a franchise quarterback in the NFL.  He has shown flashes of brilliance, but doesn't seem to possess the arm strength of other elite quarterbacks.  Texas Longhorn fans will be happy to know that backup Vince Young is waiting in the wings if 'Fitzy' happens to struggle.

Tom Cich covers the Bills for WGR 550 in Buffalo.  Cich thinks the Bills will go 9-7 in 2012.

And remember, no one circles the wagons like the Buffalo Bills!!!
