Best Known For: A native of Germany, Dirk Nowitzki is an 11-time NBA all-star. The winner of the NBA’s Most Valuable Player award in 2007, Nowitzki has played his entire NBA career with the Dallas Mavericks. He was a 1998 first-round draft pick of the Milwaukee Bucks, who then traded him to Dallas. Nowitzki was the NBA Finals MVP in 2011, when Dallas won its first NBA championship. Nowitzki has also played for the German national basketball team since 1997.

Patrick Surtain

Age: 36

Profession: Retired NFL Player

Best Known For: Patrick Surtain is a three-time Pro Bowl cornerback who played for the Miami Dolphins and Kansas City Chiefs during an NFL career that spanned from 1998 to 2008. Surtain was drafted by the Miami Dolphins in the second round of the 1998 NFL Draft. After Miami traded him to Kansas City in 2005, Surtain finished his career with the Chiefs. He had 37 lifetime interceptions.

Quentin Jammer

Age: 33

Profession: NFL Player

Best Known For: Quentin Jammer is a cornerback for the San Diego Chargers. Selected by San Diego with the fifth overall pick of the 2002 NFL Draft, Jammer has been in the starting lineup for much of his career with the Chargers. He has 18 career interceptions. Jammer was a consensus All-American in 2001 while at the University of Texas, where he was elected First-team All-Big 12 in both 2000 and 2001.

Marvin Williams

Age: 26

Profession: NBA Player

Best Known For: The second-overall pick of the 2005 NBA Draft, Marvin Williams is a forward for the Atlanta Hawks. He was selected to the NBA All-Rookie Second Team in 2006. Williams has been a part of the Hawks’ teams that have qualified for the NBA playoffs in each of the past five seasons. He was ejected in Atlanta’s Game 7 loss in the 2008 Eastern Conference First Round playoff series against the Boston Celtics for a flagrant 2 foul on Rajon Rondo. He was suspended for the first two games of the NBA’s 2008-09 season because of the infraction. In college, Williams was a member of the University of North Carolina’s 2005 NCAA championship team.

Rashard Mendenhall

Age: 25

Profession: NFL Player

Best Known For: Rashard Mendenhall is a running back for the Pittsburgh Steelers. He was Pittsburgh’s first round draft choice in 2008 out of the University of Illinois and a member of the Steelers’ team that won Super Bowl XLIII in 2009. After playing sparingly in 2008, Mendehall rushed for 1,000 yards in both 2009 and 2010. He was close to a third consecutive 1,000-yard season in 2011, but he tore his anterior cruciate ligament on the final play of the 1st quarter of the regular season finale against the Cleveland Browns. Mendenhall finished the year with 928 yards rushing.
