Major League Baseball and the El Paso Border Youth Athletic Association have teamed up to offer area kids a free baseball clinic this Saturday from 12:30pm to 2pm at Southwest University Park. PLAY BALL is an initiative created by MLB to demonstrate the positive way the game can serve as an outlet for physical activity, fun with friends and learning how to play the sport at its most basic levels of the game. Fewer than 100 spots remain for the camp, and children ages 5-13 can sign up by visiting the BYAA website.

This Cinco de Mayo PLAY BALL camp will be the first of its kind, attracting kids from Texas, New Mexico, and Mexico. MLB is bringing six representatives from their New York City headquarters to El Paso to attend the bi-national event. They will even film the clinic for MLB Network.

There are two clinics that will be held on Saturday at Southwest University Park. Prior to the afternoon session, the BYAA's RBI program participants will participate from 10am - 11:30am. That event also features kids from select Gadsden and Canutillo schools and is already at max capacity.
