The side of town where Aaron Jones’ sports bar is going to be located may have been uncovered.

Remember the restaurant bar NFL player/local hero of the gridiron Aaron Jones said earlier this summer he planned to open in El Paso?

How could you not, the short Instagram video of Aaron telling us it was showtime and captioned, “El Paso we got something special opening up soon - The Showtyme Sports Grill” was shared on countless local pages and reported on by every media site in town.

The teaser didn’t say how when it would open or which part of town the sports bar would be located in, but many speculated it would probably end up being on the Far East because that's where the population and the disposable income is.

The former Burgess High School standout and current Green Bay Packers running back made the announcement on August 4 and that’s pretty much all he’s said about it since.

Meanwhile, the Instagram account Jones urged fans to follow “for all the updates and grand opening to be announced” has not been available for weeks, and per Instagram may have been removed.

Showtyme in the Far East?

Well, I got your update.

El Paso Inc. is reporting that "word on the street is" the former University of Texas El Paso running back’s sports bar and grill will take up residence in the Sunfire Village shopping center at 2016 North Zaragoza.

If the address sounds familiar it’s because that’s the former location of Born and Raised, the restaurant and nightclub that closed last year.
