It’s time to get the grill, cooler, and floaties out of storage, the carne asada marinated, and the fam rounded up because Wet-N-Wild Waterworld is opening for the season this weekend.

And this year a new water ride will make its debut.

Kid-friendly water attractions, and plenty of shade trees make Wet ‘N Wild a really fun all-day family outing.

The 60-acre homegrown water park just outside El Paso in Anthony has more than 25 rides and attractions, including the largest wave pool in Texas.

For those who prefer not to keep it chill, there’s the crowd-favorite six-story high 4-person raft ride Jaguar Falls, and the more intense The Condor’s Secret, which will have you sliding down 3-stories at not-for-the-faint-of-heart speeds before swooping you up a near vertical wall.

The addition of the Tarantula Tailspin marks the third new attraction at the water park in six years.

It’s a double rider slide that will send riders twisting and turning down high banking corners into dual 360-degree downward spirals. It will also feature aqua lucent special effects adding a visual experience as riders slide their way down.

Construction of the newest water ride continues on schedule and is expected to reach completion by Memorial weekend, according to park officials.
