Calling All Local Performers: Major Opportunity Ahead
A new lifestyle and entertainment center, Independent Nation, is gearing up to open its doors in Sunland Park next year, offering a golden opportunity for local artists and performers. Slated for a 2025 launch, this multipurpose venue is actively seeking up-and-coming talent from the Borderland area to feature in its inaugural performance roster.
Located at 420 Sunland Park Drive, Independent Nation will be a hub for festivals, concerts, comedy shows, boxing matches, MMA events, and more. The venue’s mission is clear: to support and elevate the local arts scene. "This place is really built around the community and around the culture," said Amit Bijlani, a principal partner at Independent Nation. "One of our main focuses is on local artists."
Bijlani emphasized that many local musicians struggle to grow their audience due to the lack of mid-sized venues. Independent Nation aims to fill that gap by providing a 1,500-capacity room, perfect for artists on the rise who aren’t quite ready for larger venues. "We really want to be a place that helps to keep people in our region and give them a place where they can grow without having to leave and go to places like Austin or Nashville," he added.
In addition to providing a platform for local talent, Independent Nation plans to drive significant economic impact by offering diverse entertainment options and amenities that attract more businesses and talent to the region.
