It's time to celebrate America's birthday, but where is the best place to do that and is the party bigger in Texas?

According to a new study by WalletHub, Texas has several options that rank in the top 10 best places to celebrate the 4th of July.

Two Texas cities get that distinction - and no, El Paso isn't one of them (more on the Sun City in a moment).

Here are the top 10:

1. Los Angeles, CA
2. San Francisco, CA
3. New York, NY
4. Las Vegas, NV
5. Seattle, WA
6. San Diego, CA
7. Orlando, FL
8. Dallas, TX
9. San Antonio, TX
10. Milwaukee, WI

California leads the pack of U.S. states with three different cities ranking in the top 10.

Notice what is absent from that list? The NATION'S CAPITAL. Washington, D.C. comes in at No. 11.

Houston (No. 15) and Austin (No. 21) also have pretty solid rankings inside the top 25. Plano comes in at No. 26.

But what about El Paso? Actually, not too bad. El Paso comes in at No. 31 on the list, just behind Albuquerque, NM.

So how are these rankings determined? "WalletHub compared the 100 largest U.S. cities based on how well they balance holiday cost and fun. Our data set of 18 key metrics ranges from average beer and wine prices to duration of fireworks shows to the Fourth of July weather forecast."

Other factors include affordability, attractions & activities, and safety & accessibility. El Paso gets a top ranking for the weather forecast, but it scores behind its overall ranking in the other categories, including 66th overall in affordability. Here is the full rankings list.
