These Texas Musicians Are Ruling Spotify with a Billion Streams
Without a doubt, Spotify is one of the most used music streaming services in the world. It's a great way to listen to your favorite songs or discover new songs. And just like YouTube, Spotify also has a beloved Billion Streamed Club; a collection of songs that have over a billion streams on the service. So far, there are only about over 400 songs in that club. And yes... there are a few that represent Texas in Spotify's Billion Club.
Which Texas artists have a billion streams on Spotify?
Let's start with an artist that had one of the most streamed albums on Spotify (Astroworld), Houston's Travis Scott.
He currently has 4 songs with over a billion streams:
- "SICKO MODE",
- "Highest in the Room",
- "Goosebumps:,
- & "Butterfly Effect"
He's also the first rapper to hit 2 billion streams on every album in his catalog. Not bad for the Houston native.
The next one is Queen B, Beyoncé.
Unbelievably she only has one song with over a billion streams; "Halo". Given how popular she is, I don't think we will have to wait too long for more songs of her to join the club.
2 more Texas artists that are in the Spotify billion club include Usher. The Dallas born native has one song with a billion streams; his collab with Lil Jon & Ludacris... you know it. "Yeah!" you do
San Antonio's Megan Thee Stallion also has a sole song with a billion Spotify streams; a song that...SPLASHED into the world of the music: "WAP" featuring Cardi B.
The song is very NSFW for I suggest turning down the volume if you're gonna blast it out.
But the one Texan to have the most billion streamed songs is from El Paso
Of course we're talking about the artist who grew up in El Paso, Khalid.
Yes Khalid actually has 8 songs in the billion stream club. Some are collaborations, others are indeed his own songs. His collabs include:
- "Silence" with Marshmallow
- "Beautiful People" with Ed Sheeran,
- "1-800-273-8255" with Logic & Alessia Cara
- "Eastside" with Benny Blanco & Halsey
- & "Lovely" with Billie Ellish.
And let's not forget:

There's also a Texas metal band to have a billion total streams
An honorable mention has to go to Pantera. While they have yet to have a song hit over a billion streams, they DID hit a total of a billion streams in 2020. So far the leading song is Walk, but here's to hoping we see more Pantera, and more rock songs, in the Spotify billion club.
