The KLAQ Watermelon Party will sweeten up the month of July, which coincidently is Watermelon Month! The inaugural event will take place Saturday, July 20, from 4pm to 10 pm at the largest amusement park in the Southwest, Western Playland in Sunland Park, New Mexico.

We’ll have watermelon drinks, food, and snacks to sample and purchase, a watermelon health exhibit, watermelon eating contests, seed spitting, watermelon rolls, best dressed watermelon outfit, a watermelon smashing exhibition, a watermelon coloring contest, watermelon prizes, and other fun watermelon themed things to see and do with your family.

Enjoy live local music, plus a Watermelon Fireworks Show to end the evening courtesy of Te2Go teaN’energy.

How Do I Get In?

Everyone who purchases a Western Playland POP (Pay one Price) ticket to ride all the Western Playland rides, or a GA ticket (General Admission) automatically gets into the Watermelon Party!

Western Playland has been a staple in the El Paso area for over 60 years and offers 25 acres of extreme family fun. Home to 30 exciting rides and attractions for families and thrill seekers alike; featuring classic rides like The Bandido Roller Coaster, the Himalaya and new rides like the Fireball.

Tickets can be purchased in advance online at westernplayland.com or at the gate, day of the event.
