An El Paso owned garment factory, known for employing handicapped people and one of the cities last, is hiring after being awarded 2 huge military contracts.

ReadyOne Industries has 570 employees on staff, 75% of which have severe disabilities including some employees who are blind. That number is about to rise by around 130 peeps.

ReadyOne just scored 2 large military contracts and is hiring about 20 people per month to fulfill the orders, paying from $8.50 - $20.00 per hour depending on productivity.

ReadyOne is one of the nations largest employers of disabled people and is currently hiring for the new contracts as well as to replace employees who have left the company.

The company plans to hire about 130 new employees in 2025 tied to a new, $193.8 million, two-year contract to produce chemical protective suits for all military branches, he said.

ReadyOne also recently received a $92.4 million, five-year contract to continue making camouflage pants for the U.S. Army. That contract will keep 80 to 100 people employed, Wellons said. - EPTimes

At one point, ReadyOne's future seemed uncertain following some legal issues. According to an article in the El Paso Times, the rules regarding the percentage of employees who met the federal disabled employee requirements were not followed exactly as they should have been.

That scandal landed former CEO Bob Jones a 10-year prison sentence and the company was ordered to pay a $5 million dollar fine.

Those days are long gone though, ReadyOne is in fine form now and, obviously, continues to grow.  To apply, visit their plant at 1414 Ability Drive Monday - Friday between 8am - 5pm or click here.
