Texas Rock Sensation Blue October Comes to El Paso This December
Before 2023 wraps up, we got to see some truly amazing shows in El Paso, Texas: the Foo Fighters, Motley Crue/Def Leppard, even Cigarettes After Sex had a huge turnout for their homecoming concert. We still have plenty more coming before we welcome 2024, including fellow Texas rockers, Houston's Blue October, who will be in town this December.
How many times has Blue October come to El Paso?
Since the bands inception in 1995, the alternative art rock band has come here over 6 times; one of the first being at Speaking Rock Entertainment Center on June 24, 2011. If you went to the Beer, Bites & Beats Festival at Deadbeach Brewery in 2018, you remember seeing them perform there.
We definitely have some fond memories of the Texas rockers by having some intimate concerts INSIDE the KLAQ/KISS FM studios. Frontman Justin Furstenfeld was even nice enough to perform, arguably, their biggest hit "Hate Me" before their Tricky Falls show in 2014.
They would also hold a private concert at the studios in 2016 before their Speaking Rock concert on June 1st; they performed songs like "Calling Me", "Hate Me", "Fear" & wrapped the short concert up with "Home".
The last time we saw them was last year, October 25, inside the Plaza Theater. (I'm jealous of all the people who went because it looked like a fun time).
When is Blue October coming to El Paso for 2023?
Blue October will be holding their Spinning The Truth Around II tour & El Paso will be a stop on that tour; December 8th at the Abraham Chavez Theater. The doors will open at 7pm & the show will start at 8pm.
I know El Paso has a special place in Blue October's heart and over the last decade, they indeed have a special place in OUR hearts here (just ask Veronica Gonzales). She saw them WAY back in 2007 with Yellowcard at the Abraham Chavez (the same place they're coming this year).
