Radiator Springs isn’t a real town, but fans of the classic animated film "Cars" can get their kicks in this small Arizona town that will transport you into the Pixar film!

In 2006 we were introduced to Lightning McQueen and the charming town of Radiator Springs in the Disney/Pixar film "Cars". And if you're like me you've always wondered "what town is Radiator Springs suppose to be in real life?".

Turns out our answer lies on Route 66!

The town of Radiator Springs in the movie "Cars" was inspired by several real-life locations along Route 66, particularly the town of Seligman, Arizona.

Seligman is often referred to as the "Birthplace of Route 66" and features many classic Americana sights and establishments that influenced the creation of the fictional town in the movie. Other towns along Route 66 also contributed to the inspiration, capturing the essence of the historic highway and its unique, nostalgic charm.

You'll definitely want to take a peek around Seligman, because not only is it rich in history (c'mon! It's THE Route 66!) but it turns out, the town is totally leaning into the whole "Cars" universe and invites fans of the movie to stop in and take in the views!

And if you've ever wondered if the Cozy Cone Motel was also inspired by real life locations- you're in luck. In Holbrook, Arizona you can stay in your own cozy cone- well, actually, it's a wigwam!

The story is said to take inspiration from Seligman native Angel Delgadillo's own memories of the town from when businesses began to wither after the creation of Interstate 40!

Life is a highway and... well, you know the rest!
