The Phillies all-time leader in strikeouts by a reliever is heading to Houston.

The Astros have signed right-handed reliever Hector Neris is signing a two-year deal with Houston, with $17 million guaranteed.

Neris who opned the season as the Phillies closer, was inconsistent in that role, bit excelled as a late inning man.

The 32-year-old waa one of the few bright spots in their shakey bullpen, posting a 3.63 ERA, 1.17 WHIP and 98 strikeouts in 74 1/3 innings last year.

He has spent his entire career with the Phillies, who wanted to bring him back, per Jim Salisbury of NBC Sports Philadelphia.

With Neris out, the Phillies will need to replace a lot of important innings in their bullpen.
