The Bravos de FC Juarez defeated the Cafetaleros de Tapachula by a score 2-0 Saturday night at Benito Juarez Olympic Stadium. The victory moved them all alone into first place in the 2015 Ascenso Mx standings with 24 points accumulated after 12 games. Because of the win the Bravos have also clinched a playoff spot for this season.

Both goals for the team from the Borderland came in the first half of the match and both were of off headers in the 15th and 33rd minutes. The goals were scored by Mario Ortiz and Derley respectively.

11,100 people once again witnessed a match dominated by the local side. It is safe to say that FC Juarez was much closer to scoring a third goal than Tapachula scoring its first. It is also to be noted that the team from the Borderland was without two of its star players, forwards Sebastian Maz (out for the remainder of the season due to a knee injury) and Leandro Carrijo (who did not play this game due to a a red card he received last week and had to serve a one game suspension).

Up next for FC Juarez will be a match on the road against Celaya FC. Celaya currently finds itself in 9th place in the standings table with 16 points on the season. There is no doubt that this Celaya team will be hungry for a victory against the Bravos as they are on the brink of getting into the playoff, two points out of seventh place.

Only seven teams advance to the playoffs with the first place team getting a first-round bye.
