Bravos de FC Juarez won in buzzer beater fashion Wednesday evening in the Yucatan Peninsula by defeated Venados 2-1. The match winning gol came in the 93rd minute from the left foot of Bravos star forward Leandro Carrijo.

FC Juarez was able to comeback from a 1-0 deficit to win and take over first place in their respective group. The win also guarantees the team from the Borderland a place in the knockout stage of the midweek competition.

The home side took the lead in the 11th minute when Alfonso Tamay took a right footed strike from outside the Bravos goal box and found the lower left corner of the goal.

Bravos responded with the match equalizer in the 61st minute when Gabriel Hachen scored with a left footed strike from just behind the penalty kick spot. All things seem to indicate that the match would end in a draw until Carrijo came to the rescue for the Bravos.

FC Juarez will now have a week and a half to prepare for their next Liga BBVA match on the road against Leon. The Bravos, like all the other teams in Mexican soccer, will have the weekend off due to FIFA international matchdays this coming weekend.
