EP Electric Employee In Viral Racist Rant Video Has Been Fired
A video on Instagram went viral this week that reportedly showed a woman go off on a rant after her home got some minor paint drops on it when a neighbor's home was painted. Getting angry about a little paint of paint on your home would be ridiculous enough, but during her temper tantrum, the woman is heard calling her neighbors "scumbag Mexicans." The video was posted on Instagram user Paulina's personal page where it has been viewed almost 6,000 times and has over 70 comments. From there, El Paso's own FitFam picked up the video and posted an edited version on their Instagram page, where it has over 1,100 comments.
The video starts by showing the woman on the phone with someone giving her address saying that the neighbors trespassed on her property and got paint on the side of her house. While the woman continues to yell at her neighbors, the neighbors try to explain that she hasn't given them a chance to fix the issue, especially since they didn't know about the paint splatter on her home. She continues speaking to the person on the phone airing her grievances but then proceeds to say that "now her brand new house is ruined because of these scumbag Mexicans." She continues on by saying I guess they think everyone owes them stuff so you can just mess up other people's property."
The video is shocking and it didn't take long for internet sleuths to find out who the woman is and find out that was an employee of El Paso Electric. The keyword is: was. After the video went viral and concerned customers began calling the company, El Paso Electric put out a statement letting people know the woman was no longer working for their company:
El Paso Electric is aware of the video circulating on social media that includes one of our probationary employees. This...
