The Harry Potter Film Concert Series aims to level up going to a movie by combining it with a live music experience. Come November, experience “Hedwig’s Theme” and the Quidditch match all over again but in a whole new, interactive way.

The first movie in the Harry Potter film series comes to life at the Plaza Theatre in a one-of-a-kind concert event. The entire feature film will be screened from start to finish in high-definition on a 40-foot screen with the El Paso Symphony Orchestra performing the movie soundtrack live and in-person.

James O. Welsch will conduct the orchestra. Welsch is both the Associate Conductor of the El Paso Symphony Orchestra and Music Director and General Manager of the El Paso Symphony Youth Orchestras.

Most of the tickets to the Saturday, November 12, evening concert have been sold; only a number of single seats scattered throughout the Plaza Theatre remain.

But due to overwhelming demand, a second showing has been added the following afternoon. A matinee of Harry Potter and the Sorcerer’s Stone in concert is set for Sunday, November 13, at 2 p.m. at the Plaza Theatre.

Tickets go on sale Thursday, September 15, at 10 a.m. online at epso.org, Ticketmaster, and in-person at the Plaza Theatre Box Office.
