San Diego Padres outfielder Carlos Quentin had the only two El Paso hits in the Chihuahuas 8-1 loss to the Fresno Grizzlies Thursday at Chukchansi Park. Quentin went 2-for-4 with a solo home run in his third injury rehab game with the Chihuahuas. Fresno starter Chris Heston pitched six innings and allowed only one run.
After early solo home runs by Andrew Susac and Tony Abreu, Fresno scored six times on five hits in a ten-batter sixth inning. All eight runs came against El Paso starter Jason Lane, who surrendered eight hits, including three homers. Jorge Reyes, Tim Sexton and Jeff Francoeur pitched scoreless relief outings in the loss for El Paso. For Francoeur, it was his fourth pitching appearance this season and he has yet to allow a run.
The Chihuahuas split the four-game series with Fresno, winning the first two games and losing the next two.
