El Paso Locomotive FC tied 0-0, on the road, to the Austin Bold at the Circuit of the Americas (COTA) Sunday afternoon in a match that frankly was worthy of the result. The scoreless draw was a result of couple of teams that came out on Easter Sunday and simply struggled to function. With this result the Locomotive now have a total of 6 points on this 2019 season and are currently in 18th place (last place) in the Western Conference of the USL Championship league.

The Locomotive had two goals negated by offside calls in the 15th and 26th minute of play. In the first negated goal, the El Paso forward was clearly offside, but the second offside call in the 26th minute was extremely close.

Noted performances over the course of 90 minutes were few for the team from the 915. Omar Salgado continues to show spark down the left flank with flashy runs and quick advancement into the opponents final third to generate legitimate danger for the opposition. Still Salgado needs to be better accompanied on those attacks to make them count.

Yuma is another player whom continues to do things well for head coach Mark Lowry, responding more than adequately to any responsibilities he is assigned in any position that he is placed (Yuma played right defender on Sunday afternoon). Bottom line Yuma's presence is felt anywhere on the field of play that he is asked to play.

While acquiring a point on the road is always a good thing and most teams would sign off on a draw while playing as the visiting side, this most recent tie for El Paso doesn't feel comforting. Is it that this team has only acquired 6 of the 18 points they have disputed so far this season, or that they only have 5 goals in 6 matches? As more time goes by you have to start paying more attention to those kind of stats and not allude so much the fact that this team has not necessarily been outplayed in any of their matches and has dominated in the first half dozen matches of their existence against the most formidable opponents this league has to offer.

Up next for the Locos will be a home match this coming Saturday night versus Reno 1868 FC at Southwest University Park. Kickoff is scheduled for 7:30pm.
