As expected, El Paso Locomotive FC announced that Friday's home match against New Mexico United will be played without fans at Southwest University Park. The Locomotive will be in search of their first ever win against NMU, having suffered one loss and a pair of draws in three games. The match against New Mexico United will kick off at 7:30 p.m. and Duke Keith will call the action along with Michael Balogun on the CW and on ESPN-Plus.

If there is good news, today is the first time El Paso has reported less than 200 new positive cases of COVID-19 since July 7th. On the flip side, a total of 4,127 total positive cases have been reported in the last 13 days. That averages out to more than 317 new COVID-19 cases per day. The truth is if Locomotive fans want to return to Southwest University Park to watch Locomotive matches, they have to see the curve either flattened or at least trending downward. Mayor Margo and other health officials are imploring El Pasoans to wear a mask in a new video that was released over the weekend. Although that still remains a political topic, it could be the only way that fans will get an opportunity to return to sporting event venues between now and the end of the year.
