The El Paso Locomotive will once again have an opportunity to get solidly into the playoff hunt tonight in a midweek home match against the Tulsa Roughnecks. The match is scheduled to start at 7pm at Southwest University Park.

Labor day marks the end of the summer, and the end of summer may mark a fresh start for the team from the 915 as they had a summer to forget, winning only once since June 22nd. Still, someway, somehow, the Locos currently find themselves in 13th place in the Western Conference standings of the USL-Championship only 4 points out the playoff zone.

Meanwhile, Tulsa is in 16th place with only 23 points in this 2019 season. On paper, the Locos would seem like the favorite in this match but considering their recent form over the course of the summer that's hard to say in a confident manner.

Record aside, many still feel that this team is simply too talented to find itself in that position that it finds itself in at this point in the season. Including tonight's match, there is still 10 matches left (5 at home and 5 on the road), that is 30 points up for grabs, a lot points for a team that only finds itself 4 points out of the playoff zone. Yet somehow every point is vital...sounds contradictory? Yeah, its a soccer thing, points acquired somehow don't seem to be worth as much as those points that are left by the wayside.
