Since March, when the pandemic first began its stranglehold on our lives and livelihoods, the El Pasosoans Fighting Hunger Food Bank has been a godsend to those who have suffered a financial setback from things like unemployment, or a reduction in employee hours.

There are a total of five Mega Pantry Drive-Thru sites manned by the EPFHFB COVID-19 Response Team throughout El Paso County to help meet the demand for food assistance.

Among the locations families can now pick up emergency food boxes through the month of November are two new distribution locations that were added last month; one on the west side and the other in Northeast.

Food boxes are distributed Mondays through Saturdays and conducted drive thru style in order to minimize contact. Below are the locations and times listed by the days of the week food boxes can be picked up. The updated list of Mega Pantry sites below is as of 11/5/2020.

Monday through Friday Food Box Distribution

•El Pasosoans Fighting Hunger Food Bank, 9541 Plaza Circle, 7 a.m. – 5 p.m.
•Holy Spirit Church, 14600 Horizon Blvd, 8 a.m. – 12 p.m.
•West Valley Center parking lot, 5300 Doniphan, 2 p.m. – 6 p.m.
Nolan Richardson Recreation Center, 4435 Maxwell, 8 a.m. – 12 p.m.

Tuesday through Friday Food Box Distribution
•Kelly Center for Hunger Relief, 915 Florence, 10 a.m. – 2 p.m.

Saturday Food Box Distribution
•El Pasosoans Fighting Hunger Food Bank, 9541 Plaza Circle, 8 a.m. – 5 p.m.
•Kelly Center for Hunger Relief, 915 Florence, 9 a.m. – 12 noon

Requirements to Receive Food Assistance

-Provide an ID (Identification Card)
-Provide number of people in household
-Provide self-declared income

Masks Required

Everyone receiving food at any food distribution sites and mobile pantries must wear a face mask, and, if loading their own groceries, vinyl gloves.

Distribution Process at El Paso Food Bank Headquarters

Food pick-up procedures have changed at its main location at 9541 Plaza Circle. Those who receive food assistance at that specific location are now be required to park their vehicles and stand in line for a food ticket, which can then be redeemed for a food-filled shopping cart. Individuals must now load their own vehicles as well.
