El Paso Chihuahuas One Win Away From PCL Pacific Title
Over the last three years, the El Paso Chihuahuas have saved their best for last. A team streaking into the playoffs is a dangerous thing and the Reno Aces are finding that out first hand. The Chihuahuas have won the first two games of their Best of 5 playoff series with the Aces, and they return home tonight to host game three. First pitch is at 7:05pm and Tim Hagerty will call the action on 600 ESPN El Paso. Games four and five if necessary will be played Saturday and Sunday at Southwest University Park. If the Chihuahuas win one more game, they will capture their second straight Pacific Title and advance to the Pacific Coast League Championship.
The defending PCL champs are hungry to repeat and manager Rod Barajas knows that. Players like Hunter Renfroe, Rocky Gale, Franchy Cordero, Diego Goris, Jason Jester, Walker Lockett, Bryan Rodriguez, and Jose Rondon want to win it all again this postseason. The atmosphere at Southwest University Park will be electric this weekend and unlike last year, baseball fans in El Paso will have the opportunity to celebrate with the team if they clinch the series on their home field.
