Canutillo ISD Announces Proposed 2020 Graduation Ceremony Date

It appears the annual rite of spring is going to happen for the Canutillo Class of 2020 after all -- just not during the spring.

Officials with the Canutillo Independent School District announced the rescheduled date for its high school commencement ceremonies is Thursday, July 23. Northwest Early College High School students will walk the stage at the Don Haskins Center at 10 a.m. and Canutillo High School seniors will follow at 2 p.m.

The district was forced to postpone its ceremonies due to health guidelines related to the COVID-19 pandemic, and for a while it appeared graduates would not get to celebrate the significant milestone together at all.

Deserving and relieved grads should note, the proposed date and times are dependent on any new directives and restrictions from federal, state and city governments.
