Officials say it's not in the works now but should Bowie and Jefferson high schools ever consolidate into one large Class 6-A institution, I don't think incoming students would put up a fuss regarding tradition. Alums will, of course. Sports-wise, though, South El Paso would certainly finally be a force. This would be like some cities that instead of building a new stand alone high school to accommodate growth keep freshmen and sophomores in the old facility and send juniors and seniors into a new facility. Tradition and rivalries should not be of major concern. Consolidation would be a good move.
