It was a wild night in Phoenix as the Diamondbacks hosted Miami. Marlins' ace pitcher Jose Fernandez was cruising through a solid five innings of work when he plunked Arizona's David Peralta in the ear flap of his batting helmet with a 97-mile per hour fastball. Fernandez was clearly concerned with Peralta's condition as the Diamondbacks outfielder was face-first on the ground, but that did not stop the retaliation during the next half inning. This time, Arizona pitcher Dominic Leone was tossed for beaning Miami left fielder Christian Yelich in the butt during the top of the seventh inning. The Marlins won the game 5-3.
