Yesterday at the Medi Park lake, a very interesting scene was unfolding.

So interesting in fact that people started popping up lawn chairs and watching the events like it was a movie.

Amarillo Police showed up at the lake to supposedly search for evidence in an ongoing case. I wish I could tell you more about what case and what they were searching for, but that's all they gave.

That wasn't the interesting part. It was the fact that they had the dive team out there in full scuba gear...for what was being said to be a foot and a half of water.

ABC 7 put the search live on their Facebook feed, and the comments that started rolling in were pure gold.

There were quite a few comments stating it had to be a training exercise, which would've made sense. It was then that ABC 7 started commenting that it was an actual search for evidence.

The ultimate "IYKYK" kind of comment. I about fell over laughing when I read this one. I wonder if Waldo was found...

Now I'm not going to say this is actually something APD would do, there's far better ways to have a beach day. However, I thought it was kind of funny because I'm sure there's companies out there who actually do something like this.

Ok, I'm dead. The curious figure at the Amarillo Zoo makes another appearance. It'll be the thing Amarillo will forever be remembered for, just you watch.

This one however is probably the realest, yet funniest, comment made during the stream. It's true, we're ALL looking for spare change to pay for a gallon of gas. How funny would this be if it's true?

There were a lot of other comments listed, quite a few thinking police were looking for a weapon. That would make sense, but as of right now. Still no word. You can see all the comments and the video here.

It's 2021 and folks are making up for staying indoors and following the law all throughout 2020. This isn't always a good thing, though. There have been quite a few odd, wacky, and outright grotesque crimes committed in the Texas Panhandle this year so far.

From Friona to Lubbock, there's plenty of bad behavior on display throughout the 806 in 2021.

Take a look at what these hellions have gotten themselves into:
