Late on Sunday night, Liga MX released the schedule for the upcoming 2020 Apertura season of Mexico’s premier soccer division. This means, for FC Juarez fans all across the Borderland, they now know who, when and where the Bravos will play their 17 matches from the end of July thru the beginning of November.

The general, interesting and important information for the upcoming season is the following:

-This upcoming season has been renamed “Guard1anes 2020” (Guardians2020) to honor all the first responders and healthcare workers across Mexico during the COVID-19 pandemic.

-Mexican Soccer fans will have be able to enjoy matches 4 days in a row as there will be matches Friday, Saturday, Sunday and for the first time ever there will be a match that takes place every Monday night for the entire season. On some weeks there will also be a match on Thursday. The season opener will take place on a Thursday (July 23rd)

-Week 4 and 9 of season will take place in the midweek (August 11-13th, September 8th and 9th)

As for the Bravos, they will be a part of the season opening match on Thursday, July 23rd when they face Atletico San Luis on the road. FC Juarez other road games will be at Pumas, Cruz Azul, Monterrey, Toluca, Xolos, Mazatlan, and Tigres. FC Juarez will visit Mexico City and Monterrey twice to face off against four of the best known teams in Mexican Soccer.

The team from the Borderland will host Necaxa, Chivas, Leon, Santos, Puebla, Atlas, Pachuca, Queretaro and will finish the season by hosting Club America on November 6th. The two biggest teams in Mexican soccer, Chivas and America, will be visit the Bravos this season.

Prior to the start the regular season FC Juarez will travel to Leon, Guanajuato to participate in Copa Telcel, a 4-team mini tournament that will serve as their preseason. The other 3 teams to participate are Leon, Atletico San Luis and Pachuca.

Pachuca will face San Luis, while Bravos will square off against Leon on Tuesday, July 14th. The loser will play for third place on Friday, July 17th while the winners will play for the “cup” the same day after the third place match.
