Cellphones. Can't live with them, can't live without them. For some folks, it seems as though their phones are attached to their hands at times. I mean why not, we get everything we need from our phones. The time, the weather, cherished photos, adorable videos, keeping up with family and friends on the socials, what more could you want?

How about alerts? These days we get all types of alerts on our cell phones, Amber alerts, probably the most familiar to everyone, silver alerts when an elderly person goes missing, and even blue alerts that warn residents that a wanted suspect is on the loose. All of these alerts are important but I can honestly say that for the first time the other day, I received an alert on my phone that I guarantee I've never seen before.

Only in Texas! With the wind blowing up to 65 mph this past Sunday, this is the alert all West Texans received on their cellphones. It was insanity! So bad apparently it warranted a dust storm warning alert.

Two days this week we are actually expecting high winds, including today with a red flag warning and winds gusting as high as 35 mph. Tomorrow's weather calls for blowing dust and very windy. You know you're in Texas when your weather forecast doesn't bother with sunshine, rain or snow but WIND, which those of us natives know is its own season.

March is blowing in so just as the alert mentioned, 'pull aside, stay alive!'
