The UTEP football team already has six wins and is bowl eligible, but that did not stop the Athletic Department from creating a new intro video featuring four seniors on the team. The theme of the video is that Jameill Showers, Eric Tomlinson, Anthony Puente, and Jerel Watkins are entering a mine with their throwback football helmet and a pick to start digging. Tomlinson soon discovers an old leather helmet, reminiscent of the Border Championship teams in the late 1930s. Watkins then uncovers an old trophy which signified the great Miners teams from the mid 1960s. Puente unlocks a small treasure chest which features a ring from the 1988 Independence Bowl team. Showers digs up an old UTEP jersey of Robert Clayton Jr., who played on the 2000 WAC Championship team. Longtime UTEP voice Jon Teicher provides the play by play call in every clip. Finally, the players light a match and proceed to blow up the mine with the message "Make History." It is an extremely well done video and will be shown prior to the team entering the field for Senior Day on Saturday, November 29th against Middle Tennessee State. Hopefully, 40,000 or more fans will be in the Sun Bowl next Saturday evening to watch the video. In the meantime, here is your first look at UTEP's outstanding new intro video.
