ARLINGTON, Texas (AP) — The Rangers snapped a four-game losing streak with a 4-3 win over the Los Angeles Angels last night. Jason Frasor pitched a scoreless ninth for the Rangers. The inning comes three days after he gave up a game-ending homer in an 11-inning loss at Cleveland.

TUCSON, Ariz. (AP) — Former Texas quarterback Connor Brewer is headed to Arizona. Brewer was one of the nation's highest-rated quarterbacks in 2012 after leading an Arizona high school to three straight state titles. Brewer was a redshirt freshman for the Longhorns last season before deciding to transfer.

DALLAS (AP) — The Dallas Mavericks have signed first-round pick Shane Larkin. He's likely out until training camp in October with a broken right ankle. Larkin is slotted to make $1.28 million in the point guard's first season under the rookie salary scale. The Mavericks traded down twice in the draft and ended up with the rights to Larkin.

FORT WORTH, Texas (AP) — The North All-Stars clinched a runaway 111-86 win over the South in the Texas High School Coaches Association Basketball All-Star game. Leyton Hammonds and Jeffrey Carroll scored 17 and 16 points for the North. Kavin Tilbury tallied 13 points to earn the South's Most Valuable Player citation.
