The Sun Bowl—tied for the second-longest running bowl game behind the Rose Bowl—has been canceled, according to Brett McMurphy of Stadium.

The Sun Bowl Association announced Monday that the WestStar Don Haskins Sun Bowl Invitational will be canceled this year.

Through a back-and-forth championship game, UTEP was able to prevail over UC Irvine, 67-61, winning the 58th Annual WestStar Bank Don Haskins Sun Bowl Invitational for the first time in five years.
