On a picturesque evening, the UTEP Miners beat their oldest rival, 41-28 in front of 33,000 fans.  UTEP was desperate for the win because their last 2 losses against Ole Miss and Oklahoma were winnable games, and next week they travel to Wisconsin.

UTEP players and fans are well aware what Friday's game in Orlando means.  The Miners must win to have enough wins to be considered for a bowl game.  There are no playoffs in college football, but this is the closest thing to a playoff game the Miners have faced in a long time...

It was an emotional day for the 22 UTEP seniors honored before the Miners final home game against Tulsa.  Like a homecoming game in high school, college coaches would often rather do without the pageantry of senior day.  After all, coaches want their players to be dialed in mentally...

Traditionally the UTEP Miners can't buy a win in the month of November.  They defeated East Carolina for the first time ever on Saturday night 22-17.  The win couldn't of come at a better time as the Miners ended a 2 game losing streak.

On a night where fans had to be thinking, 'here we go again' the Miners overcame blunders and injuries to down East Carolina and get back to .500 on the season. Quarterback Nick Lamaison left the game in the first quarter with a groin injury...

It was an ideal night for football at the Sun Bowl.  The air was brisk but not unbearable, the wind was almost non existent, and there was hardly a cloud in the sky. Once again the crowd was underwhelming, but the nearly 25,000 fans in attendance were vocal and let the Golden Eagles know they were there...

UTEP and Colorado State squared off at the Sun Bowl on Saturday night for homecoming.  The Miners prevailed 31-17 to win their 2nd consecutive game, and go above .500 with a record of 4-3 on the season

When Houston and UTEP meet every year you never know what to expect.  This trend continued as the 2 teams met for a rare Thursday night game at the Sun Bowl.  Houston won the game 49-42 in front of a rather thin crowd of 24,111.  It's a shame that more people didn't show up becasue they missed remarkable offensive performances by both squads as they combined for 1,248 total yards.

At this point in the season Miner fans are growing tired of hearing about moral victories and close calls.  With that in mind I'm going to tell the fans what they want to hear.  The Miners should have defeated Houston at the Sun Bowl.
