MIAMI (AP) — The right-hander who threw a no-hitter on the final day of the regular season for the Miami Marlins might be only the third- or fourth-best young arm in their rotation. That's how good the Marlins' pitching is.

Last night's 12-player mega deal that brought Jose Reyes, Josh Johnson, and Mark Buehrle from Miami to Toronto sent shock waves throughout the baseball world. This trade suddenly makes the Toronto Blue Jays an instant contender for 2013.

This time last year, the Florida.......er........Miami Marlins were the talk of baseball's 'hot stove league.' They were getting ready to move into their new digs in Little Havana, and added Jose Reyes, Mark Buehrle, and Heath Bell to a young, talented roster.

Giancarlo Stanton appears to have no problem with the dimensions of Dodger Stadium, which isn't exactly a home run haven. The power-hitting right fielder made Chavez Ravine his personal launching pad this weekend, homering for the third straight game as the Miami Marlins beat the Los Angeles Dodgers 6-2 on Sunday.

Adrian Gonzalez hit a three-run homer a couple of hours after arriving at his new address, giving Clayton Kershaw all the offensive support he needed in 8-2 victory over Josh Johnson and the Miami Marlins on Saturday night.

The San Francisco Giants beat the Los Angeles Dodgers 8-4 on Wednesday night for their first three-game sweep at Dodger Stadium in five years. The Giants arrived in Los Angeles trailing the Dodgers by a half-game, and they leave with their largest lead in a month.

Marlins' Manager Ozzie Guillen is known for being outspoken.  He hasn't been in south Florida for long at all and is already sparking controversy over his remarks.  This time Guillen is in trouble for praising former Cuban Prime Minister and President Fidel Castro.
