We're already at the midway point for high school football across the borderland, and contrary to last week's full slate of games, there is only a handful of games set for this week across the Sun City.
The Chapin Huskies volleyball team continues it's unbeaten run in District 1-4A as they swept the Jefferson Silver Foxes, 25-23, 25-20, 25-15. The 8-0 Huskies are now ranked 21st in the state by the Texas Volleyball Coaches Association.
The Andress Eagles dominated the Jefferson Silver Foxes at Baty-Simmang Stadium on Friday night. The Eagles won the game 55-6, it turned out to be a one man show as wide receiver Eddie Sinegal had the performance of his life with 5 touchdowns, and 241 all purpose yards.
There was a time in this city when Andress and Irvin battled for bragging rights in the northeast side of town. The Chapin Huskies may be the newest kid on the block, but they have quickly become perennial contenders for the 1-4A crown.
