Travel season is off to a hot start, with AAA reporting record-breaking travel for spring break.

Hawaii got back-to-back homers from Kekoa Payanal and Kama Angell in the first inning, sparking a 13-3 win in just four innings Sunday over Curacao in the championship of the Little League World Series.

Here are the highs and lows from UTEP's 67-63 loss to Hawaii in the quarterfinals of the Diamond Head Classic.

After back-to-back losses—first, to Houston (77-57) and to Hawai'i (67-63) in the first round of the Diamond Head Classic—UTEP is left to regroup quickly for a matchup against Ball State (6-5) in the consolation round of the tournament.

Remember the people who argued that UTEP made a mistake by leaving the WAC in 2005?  They said that the miners didn't have any great rivals in C-USA, and had to travel too far to play the likes of Marshall and East Carolina.

Surf’s up. Hawaii became the first state to officially recognize surfing as a high school sport, which will take effect by the spring of 2013. Funding for the program will come from the private sector and the community. “Surfing has been a really big part of my life and has taught me a lot of valuable lessons: what hard work and perseverance can do, time management and how to stay organized,”
