High school football is back in the Sun City as several school districts return to the paydirt after a two-week hiatus due to the rising COVID-19 cases in El Paso.
The high school football season has officially kicked off in the borderland, with games slated across the city for what should be an eventful opening week.
The dawn of the varsity boys basketball season is in effect, as playoffs approach the horizon for several clubs across the city of El Paso. But in both districts, a little bit of mayhem has ensued, which has made the final playoff spots up for grabs in both districts.
In one of the more marquee matchups of 1-6A district play, the Americas Trailblazers (20-7, 3-0 1-6A) found a way to claw back on the road against Coronado (14-10, 2-1 1-6A) and pulled away with a 56-52 win on Tuesday night.
It's a busy slate of playoff games on Thursday and Friday across the borderland, as teams gear up and get set for the Texas high school football playoffs this week.
Week one is now in the books and El Paso teams will gear up for the second week of high school football across the borderland.
