High school football week three is here in El Paso, as district play kicks off in 1-6A and non-district matchups continue for 5A and 4A across the city.

The unbeaten Parkland Matadors put their unblemished 10-0 record on the line against Bowie at Matador Stadium on a crisp, cool mid November evening in northeast El Paso.  The Bear's competitive squad who fought hard all season long, enabled them to stay with the high-flying Matadors for a half, but in the end, Parkland prevailed in a route, 64-28...

The dawn of the varsity boys basketball season is in effect, as playoffs approach the horizon for several clubs across the city of El Paso. But in both districts, a little bit of mayhem has ensued, which has made the final playoff spots up for grabs in both districts.

In a defensive battle where points came at a premium, Bowie's fourth quarter heroics by kicker Alexis Martinez gave the Bears a huge 6-3 win over Canutillo in their District 1-5A opener.  Martinez nailed a 24 yard field goal at the 8:18 mark of the fourth quarter, and hit the game winning 32 yard field goal with 3:07 remaining...

Bowie blinked and was down 20-0 to Eastlake at the SAC as the Falcons defeated the Bears 41-7 in their first ever home playoff game.

The Bowie Bears dominated the majority of their game against Burges with an effective ground game and a impressive defensive performance.

The Horizon Scorpions scored like it was going out of style, and easily defeated the Bowie Bears 62-18 in their Class 4A Division Bi-District playoff game at Emperor Stadium.

The Burges Mustangs headed into their final game of the 2012 season on a 5 game winning streak.  Bowie knew they had their hands full for two primary reasons.
